So are there times in your life when you sit there, eyes wide and think, “ME?!” I remember the first time I got that feeling. I was in middle school (7th grade I believe) and had taken what is called the Florida Writes Test. It’s a writing test that is mandatory and at that time was taken sometime after Christmas. Of course after taking the test I quickly forgot about it because in middle school I had way to much to worry about than some test! Especially one that wasn’t graded on my report card! However, at the end of the year we have an awards ceremony. I received a few awards for the honor roll and was patiently sitting in the bleachers for the remaining awards to be called out. At the end of the ceremony the presenter said that there were two more awards to be given away. They reminded us that the 7th graders had taken the Florida Writes Test and these next two awards were for the only 2 students to score a 6 which is the highest possible score. As I started to tune them out I then heard my name called. I was speechless.. I had scored a 6?! I was one of two?! Honestly to this day I still don’t believe it because let me tell you, my writing skills have gone down the toilet since I’ve been out of school.
However, this brings me to most recent experience. Last week I received an email from The Blah Blah Blahger also known as Jen or JJ. She told me she had been sent to my website by a fellow blogger and tweeter (is that a word yet?!). She then went on to explain that she has a personal blog where she posts DIY projects, recipe reviews, talks about the tools she uses around the house but that her favorite was a feature she does called PhotoFANatic Friday. Here’s the kicker.. she then asked ME if I would consider being featured!! Of course I went straight to her blog and checked it out.. you should too because it’s AWESOME! I then realized though that she had featured other photographers such as Jasmine Star, Mary Jane Photography and David Jay. This is the point where I was so humbled. Those are some big shoes to follow in and they are much better writers than I could dream of being but I was thrilled that she would consider me to be featured. So I emailed her back and told her that I would be delighted! I am SO excited and I am so humbled that she chose me for today’s feature!
Jen, thank you so much! Again, I am truly humbled and so blessed. This really meant the world to me and brightened my whole week! If you want to check out my feature you can click the image below!
