On a freezing winter day in Florida.. yes I do realize that the words freezing and Florida don’t really go together…but it was barely 30 degrees.. I headed out to Eden State Gardens to finally meet Kelly and Mark. They booked me for their wedding some time ago and when Kelly called me to book a session on their visit to finalize wedding plans I was thrilled. I have so many out of state brides that it’s not very often that I get to do engagement pictures for my couples. Right away Kelly, Mark and I had an instant connection and I am SUPER thrilled with their images. Before they were even competely uploaded I was calling their amazing wedding planner Robyn of Mix Mingle Glow telling her what naturals they are in front of the camera. Kelly and Mark.. I can’t wait to shoot your wedding!!!

If you can’t tell, I’m starting a new series called Things I LOVE. It may be once a week or every day but I thought it would give you all a little more insight into who I am!

Today’s Things I LOVE is, as titled, action shots! Every once in a while in the heat of the moment you get shots that are not “technically correct.” They could be slightly out of focus and possibly have some action blur. In my opinion there is a HUGE difference in completely out of focus and action/movement in a shot. The frame (as in one image below) may not even have the subject(s) full face(s). However, I LOVE them when they completely capture the essence of the moment. Here are three recent faves…two from a recent wedding and the other from my engagement session tonight!

BTW.. Can you believe it’s almost Christmas time?! Who wants to see snow?? I DO.. I DO!!!!!!!

Glenn and Harmony traveled over to Alys Beach from Tallahassee back in August to meet me for their engagement session! Since their wedding has past as well I thought now would be a great time to post some of their awesome pictures!!! These two have been such a delight to work with..they even sent me a postcard from their honeymoon in Hawaii!! How awesome is that?! I’ve fallen madly in love with the Alys Beach area… it’s amazing!!!

As Emily walked up to me for the first time she said, “Are you sure that we should do the session today?? I’ve just been so upset and crying so much because Ryan is leaving tomorrow.” Ryan is in the Navy and has now already moved. However, I told her, “Yes.. we should do the shoot,” and I promised her that we would have a blast and get her mind off the move. And that we did!!! Emily and Ryan were one of my favorite couples to shoot because their love and emotion just radiated. I never had to tell them to kiss or cuddle or any of that lovey-dovey stuff.. they just did it! Emily and Ryan, while I’m sad for you that you are separated until March, I’m very happy that the two of you were brought together and will be happily spending the rest of your lives together!!
