Archive for the ‘A day (or week) in the life of Leslie’ Category

I will be out of the office from today (February 4th) until February 10th. I’ll be shooting a wedding in Jamaica and taking a bit of extra time with the hubs on our first vacation together (aka-alone) in SIX YEARS! I will have limited email access so I will try to get back with anyone that contacts me asap. Thanks for understanding! Also want to give a shout out to my mother in law for staying with Kay.. you two have a blast!!! Here’s a picture from Ocho Rios where we will be staying!

My heart breaks…

January 27, 2010

As I sit here trying my hardest to hold in tears, nothing I could feel right now can possibly compare to that of my dear friend and fellow photographer, Shannon of SW Photography.  Her husband, Lt. Clinton Wermers, was on a cross country training mission (Navy) when the plane crashed in to Lake Pontchartrain around 6:30 Saturday evening. The student pilot in training was found alive about two hours after the crash and the search continued to find Clinton.  We all prayed for a miracle. Sadly, divers recovered his body sometime early this morning. Shannon and Clinton have two beautiful daughters and a third child on the way..which you can see below.  A trust fund has been set up for the children’s education. Donations can be made to the Air Warrior Courage Foundation online by clicking HERE. I spoke with Shannon earlier and she said that she had no problems if anyone would like to bring food by… that it would be most appreciated!  If you would like to do so, please call me for her address. Shannon, her girls and family all need our prayers and support. Shannon, my heart truly breaks for you and I pray that God gives you the peace to get through this tragedy one day at a time. We are all here for you!

I borrowed this image off of Shannon’s blog:

Brit: Just RT your tweet about this. It is a very heartbreaking story and am keeping her family in my thoughts. My fiance is a pilot, so I can only imagine what is going through her mind, and how I feel when he is out flying.

Andrea: They are in our thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine what she is going through.

Where has the year gone?!

December 22, 2009

This past weekend I shot my last wedding of 2009. I can honestly say that never in my life did I think it was possible for a year to fly by SO FAST! It seems like just yesterday the year started with my first wedding being in Maryland the first weekend of January! Oh how time flies. Don’t blink.. you might miss something!

As of tomorrow (Wednesday, December 23, 2009) I will be out of the office until Monday, December 28, 2009 spending some much needed time relaxing with my family. I’ll also be back on the blogging band wagon at that point catching up on all my weddings and shoots that (yes.. it kills me to admit) I’ve been needing to blog since AUGUST! So Merry Christmas!

Since all posts are better with pictures.. here are a few quick favorites from my last 2009 wedding! It was fabulous!!!

Nona Bardin: Oh my goodness, Leslie! The wedding photos on your blog of Mikhy and Katherine are excellent! I know that Stephanie will agree that it is amazing that our "little boy and girl" are now the new "Mr. and Mrs.!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait until Katherine sees these!!!!!!!!!

Katherine Corsair: Dang Leslie, you make me look good!

Every day I am more and more amazed at the little girl my daughter is growing to be. I laugh out loud every time someone says that she is her mother’s daughter. I guess it’s true what they say, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!” She has the bubbliest personality, cutest smile and prettiest blue eyes. Of course.. I think she is gorgeous but I’m slightly biased! She wins almost every person’s heart she meets immediately. We have a local restaurant that we go to a few mornings a week for our Mommy/Daughter breakfasts and she’s got at least six locals hearts. One older woman said, “I don’t have grandchilden yet but I will take that beautiful one if you want!” A few others know how much she loves the sticker machine and every time we go she gets two quarters to get new stickers. Can you say SPOILED?!?!

However, she is also one of the most caring and nuturing little girls I know. If anyone say’s “ouch” she immediately asks if they are ok. I adore when she comes up to me and grabs my face to kiss it all says, “I kiss you all over you face mommy!” She has her teachers at school wrapped around her finger and they have all agreed that if they gave out awards for personality.. Kaydence would be the goofiest! She can make anyone laugh.

So I could go on all day long about how much I love and adore my precious little girl but you might get bored.. so instead I’m going to share some pictures of our mini session this morning! :)

Joy Taylor: OMG the pink hat and those blues eyes are a great combo. The outfit is too cute and I can see her personality in every single photo! Two thumbs up!

Shelby Peaden: Kaydence is just too cute! Such a happy girl she is with such pretty blue eyes. Love these fun colorful shots.

Things I LOVE ~ Action Shots!

December 16, 2009

If you can’t tell, I’m starting a new series called Things I LOVE. It may be once a week or every day but I thought it would give you all a little more insight into who I am!

Today’s Things I LOVE is, as titled, action shots! Every once in a while in the heat of the moment you get shots that are not “technically correct.” They could be slightly out of focus and possibly have some action blur. In my opinion there is a HUGE difference in completely out of focus and action/movement in a shot. The frame (as in one image below) may not even have the subject(s) full face(s). However, I LOVE them when they completely capture the essence of the moment. Here are three recent faves…two from a recent wedding and the other from my engagement session tonight!

BTW.. Can you believe it’s almost Christmas time?! Who wants to see snow?? I DO.. I DO!!!!!!!
